Terms of Service

01The service

SecMissions provides short, browser-based cybersecurity training missions and related learning material, including code review, cloud security, log investigation, introductory reverse engineering, and interview practice.

All missions run against synthetic, simulated scenarios built for authorized defensive education. Nothing on SecMissions grants permission to test, access, or attack systems you do not own or are not explicitly authorized to test.

02Early access

The service is in early access. Features, mission content, plan names, and pricing may change, and parts of the service may be unavailable, incomplete, or reset while we build. Waitlist registration expresses interest only; it does not create an entitlement to access, to a particular plan, or to a particular price.

03Paid plans and billing

SecMissions is a paid product. As of the effective date above, card payments are not yet processed on the site: access to Pro, Career, and other individual paid plans is granted manually by the SecMissions team, most often through a coupon code, after you join the waitlist or request access. Individual plans are priced and billed annually.

When automated checkout is enabled, purchases made through it will follow the same annual billing structure described in these terms, and this section will be updated to name the payment processor and describe the checkout flow rather than rewritten from scratch.

Team, cohort, and educational institution (EDU) licences are arranged and invoiced directly rather than through self-serve checkout, and are governed by the written order or agreement covering that purchase. If that order conflicts with this page, the written order controls.

Prices shown on the pricing page are current list prices. They may change for billing periods that have not yet started, with notice as described under Availability and changes.

04Refunds and cancellation

If you were granted an individual annual plan (Pro or Career), you can request a full refund of any amount actually paid by emailing hello@secmissions.com within 14 days of the date access was granted.

Outside that 14-day window, we do not offer refunds by default for the remaining part of an annual term, though we may agree to a pro-rata refund of unused full months remaining on the term at our discretion.

You can cancel a plan at any time by emailing hello@secmissions.com. Cancelling stops the plan from renewing at the end of its term; on its own, it does not trigger a refund of the current term once the 14-day window above has passed.

Cohort and EDU licences follow the refund and cancellation terms set out in the written order covering that purchase instead of the individual-plan terms above.

05Coupon codes

A coupon code grants access to a plan without a card payment. Unless the code or the message that issued it says otherwise, a coupon is single-use, tied to the account that redeems it, and cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged. Coupons carry no cash value and no cash-equivalent value.

We may revoke coupon-granted access, and any account access resulting from it, if the code was obtained through fraud, abuse, or a channel it was not intended for.

06Founding member pricing

Founding member pricing holds for as long as the subscription it applies to stays continuously active. If a founding-priced subscription lapses, whether through cancellation, non-renewal, or a failed payment once billing is live, reactivating the plan later applies the plan's then-current list price rather than the original founding rate.

07Accounts

• You must provide accurate information and keep your login credentials confidential.
• You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
• You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent where you live, to create an account.
• Tell us at hello@secmissions.com promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

08Acceptable use

When using SecMissions you agree not to:

• Use anything learned here to access, disrupt, or test systems without documented authorization from the system owner.
• Attack, probe, overload, or attempt to bypass the security or access controls of SecMissions itself, other than through a coordinated disclosure to hello@secmissions.com.
• Scrape, bulk-download, resell, or republish mission content, walkthroughs, or learning guides.
• Share account access, circumvent plan limits, or misrepresent mission results as verified third-party credentials.
• Upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content, or malicious code, into any input field in the service.
• Use the service to build a competing training product from our content.

09Your content

You keep ownership of the findings, explanations, and other content you submit. You grant SecMissions a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, process, and display that content as needed to operate the service, to score and give feedback on your practice, and to improve mission quality in aggregated or de-identified form.

10Our content

Missions, walkthroughs, learning guides, the SecMissions name and logo, and the software behind the service are owned by SecMissions or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. You may use them for your own learning and internal team training under an active plan; all other rights are reserved.

11No professional advice or guarantee

SecMissions is educational. It is not a security assessment, an audit, a certification, or professional security advice, and completing missions does not guarantee a job, an interview outcome, or that any system you work on is secure.

12Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service, including mission content and early-access features, at any time. We will give reasonable notice of material changes to these terms by updating the effective date above and, where the change is significant, by email to registered users.

13Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service or ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to hello@secmissions.com. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if your use puts the service or other users at risk. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability, continue to apply.

14Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply only to the extent permitted.

15Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SecMissions is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred United States dollars.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence.

16Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [State or Territory], Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be resolved in the courts of [State or Territory], Australia, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.
